Dr. Kyle Deden (DC)

I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1999. I completed my residency at Palmer's outpatient clinic in Rock Island, Illinois.

After graduation, I practiced at the Coal Valley Chiropractic Clinic in Illinois. In 2004, I joined Jason Bradley, another Palmer alumnus, at the Bradley Center for Health and Wellness in Iowa City, Iowa.

I was attracted by the holistic philosophy of the Bradley Center, especially the effort to deliver other forms of physical medicine, such as manual therapy and therapeutic exercise and stretching, as an integral part of chiropractic care, and I finally purchased the practice in 2005.

I practice traditional and low force chiropractic. I focus on Diversified, Gonstead, and Thompson techniques, but I also draw on a wider variety of techniques, including Activator, Lumbar Distraction, Sacral Occipital Technique, and Toggle Recoil. I am Palmer trained and certified in all of these techniques. In addition to this Palmer training, I have studied Applied Kinesiology and Nutrition.

I subscribe to the basic chiropractic tenet that the human body possesses an innate intelligence with which it strives to maintain healthy homeostasis. I view chiropractic care, with its focus on the relationship between the spinal column and the central nervous system, as a way to help facilitate this natural process.

I am a strong believer in the value of other physical medicine modalities, and I work closely with licensed massage therapists who provide manual therapy and therapeutic exercise and stretching as an adjunct to the chiropractic adjustment. As provided by a Doctor of Chiropractic or Chiropractic Assistants, these services are known as chiropractic physiotherapy.

The overall goal of my practice is to improve the lives of my patients through individualized patient care, the use of integrated treatment modalities, and a general commitment to natural health. In addition to chiropractic care, the clinic offers massage and acupuncture services.

I am a native of the Midwest. I grew up in Anoka, Minnesota. Today I live in Iowa City, Iowa. When not at the clinic, I like to spend time with my children, Brandon and Jackie.

Originally from Illinois, I graduated from Augustana College (Rock Island, IL) in 2003.  It was during my time at Augie that I first became interested in the holisitic healing arts.  While earning my Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Art, I also became a Reiki practicioner in 2001.

My interest in holistic healthcare continued to germinate over time fueled by my desire to control and heal my own chronic knee pain.  This led me to attend East-West School of Integrative Healing Arts where I studied a wide variety of both Eastern and Western modalities with particular focus on Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  I graduated in May 2009 and became an Iowa State Licensed and Board Certified Massage Therapist.
